Woven Wood Shades: What the heck are they anyway?
Woven wood shades are considered a hard window treatment. They are a roman shade made from a natural fiber such as bamboo or grass cloth and offer a natural, organic look.
One of the best features of woven wood shades is how versatile they are. They have many customizable features and can work with a variety of décor styles and window sizes.
They are available in a wide variety of sizes, colors, textures, and styles, and they can be motorized.
There are some unique ways to customize your woven wood shades too!
Add A Lining For Privacy
You can choose to have your woven wood shades unlined, lined with a light-filtering liner, or lined with a blackout liner.
Adding a white or light colored lining to a dark woven wood shade will highlight the natural texture of the shade.
Using a dark lining on a dark shade will make the texture less noticeable, so discuss with your client if they want the texture of the shade to be noticeable.
Add Contrasting Trim
Just like fabric roman shades, you can add a contrasting band to the woven wood shade to add interest to the shade.
Top Down, Bottom Up Shades
Woven wood shades are also available as a top down, bottom up shade!
This style and the natural material make them ideal for use in bathrooms, since they are resistant to heat, condensation, and moisture.
