Patio Shades for Outdoor Living Comfort

Things are heating up...literally! After a long, snowy winter it’s safe to say everyone is happy that spring has sprung. Hello April showers, bringing all those May flowers!

With the warmer weather, top of everyone’s mind is spending more time outside. This summer will hopefully be different from last summer, with more summer BBQs and outdoor parties. We are here for it! 🙌

Motorized patio shades offer the same luxury and convenience of indoor motorized shades. Your clients will enjoy being able to block the harsh sunlight while spending time under their awning, pergola, or covered porch.

Or in the case of this project we worked on with the talented Lynn Hofer, a rooftop deck.

In the spirit of ‘bringing inside out’, our customers asked us to create an outside oasis as an extension of their beautiful new penthouse.

The goal was to make a seamless transition from their traditional monochromatic interior space to the exterior roof top deck, where they could enjoy their charming colorful gardens, set against the strikingly blue sky.

There was also a major challenge to overcome – persistent sun and strong heat.

With a push of a button, the whole outside deck transforms into a private secluded room, as the shades slowly envelop the room, making their way down to the preprogrammed positions. 

Five hardwired motorized shades were installed underneath the soffit of the roofing.  Each roller is covered with a custom painted powder-coated fascia to match the molding of the roof.  Airline cables run from each top corner of the shade and are anchored into the footing of the pillar to prevent the shades from swinging with the wind.  

An outdoor oasis, as comfortable as the penthouse interiors. Mission accomplished!
