Warmer weather is on the way. Are your clients ready to live that patio life?
Today I’m sharing some outdoor shade projects to get you inspired.
Project #1: Rooftop Terrace
With the shades open, these lovely clients can enjoy the view from the rooftop terrace of their penthouse.
When desired, they can enjoy privacy with outdoor draperies, as well as a remote controlled motorized patio shades. Watch the video to see them in action! We also had the pleasure of providing the pillows and cushions for the outdoor furniture.
Be sure to discuss motorization and operation options with your client when specifying motorized shades. There are many motorization choices available, and the best fit will depend on the space and availability of a power source.
Project #2: Backyard Patio
Installing these patio shades was a team effort – each shade cassette weighed well over 100 pounds.
These are also remote controlled motorized shades. When the shades are down, these clients enjoy privacy that almost feels like being indoors.
The shade fabric selected limits directional visibility, but still allows light to filter through.
Choose your level of privacy! Shade fabric comes in many densities, providing varying levels of UV protection and privacy. You can also specify colors to match your client’s home exterior!
Project #3: A Beach House Second Floor Porch
Sometimes you want to block the UV rays, but not the view! This Stone Harbor beach house features beautiful views from the 2nd floor porch.
The goal here was UV protection, so a more open weave fabric was selected. This shade fabric blocks 86% of UV rays, but allows for excellent visibility.
Wondering how you keep the shades in place?
Aircraft cables on each side of the shade will keep the shades from blowing in the wind. The bottom rail of the exterior roller shade is attached to and travels down the cables. The cord is secured to the floor of the deck, securing the shade from shifting all over the place on windy days.
Project #4: Non-Motorized Outdoor Shades
Motorized shades are a wonderful convenience, but sometimes a manually operated shade is what the customer wants.
These outdoor shades are raised up and down via a cord lift system.
